The Research Center for Stroke & Heart Disease of the Jacobs Neurological Institute at the
State University of New York at Buffalo (Research Center) works with clinicians and community members to
raise awareness of and reduce risk for stroke and heart disease through the design, implementation, and
evaluation of evidence-based programs.
The Research Center is conducting
Primary Care Partnerships to Prevent Heart Disease in Women, a program to increase
awareness among primary care providers in the high-risk Upstate and Western New York
areas about heart disease in women including how to assess, diagnose, and treat the
condition according to evidence-based guidelines.
